  • Woodland Therapy

    I love woodlands. Between hiking, bird watching, and just sitting on a cliff face in Acadia National Park listening to the collective sounds of nature harmonize, the woodland settings always put a huge dent into the stress my OCD induces. Certainly others have likewise noted that the “ambience” of woodland environments can serve a stress-reliever (Milligan 2007:32).

  • Preparing For Stress of Fall Semester

Specifically, it’s important to consider the stress students endure during late August and early September as they adjust back to college life.   • The Connection: Speaking with Someone Who Knows

    Aside from my daily counseling duties, I lecture about my experience battling severe OCD, a battle that’s been with me since before I was ten years old. The lectures are a great release for me, but they also serve to give grad students in counseling programs to get to speak directly with someone battling a disorder they are likely to encounter through their years in the field.
