ACA Conference & Expo

Held annually, the ACA Conference & Expo is ACA’s flagship educational event focusing on the professional development of counselors in various practice settings. The event attracts nearly 5,000 mental health professionals who come to develop their careers, advance the counseling field and promote human dignity. No other professional counseling conference delivers the range of topics and depth of knowledge found at ACA’s annual gathering.

The 2023 Conference & Expo is the premier professional development and networking event for licensed professional counselors, students, and mental health professionals. Join us in-person to connect, engage, and learn.

ACA 2022 Conference & Expo
April 7-10 | Atlanta, Georgia

The American Counseling Association Conference & Expo is the premier professional development and networking event for licensed professional counselors, students and mental health professionals. This year was the first time in two years the counseling community got the chance to connect face-to-face in Atlanta, Georgia from April 7-9.

2021

Wherever You Are, Whenever You Can
April 5-30 | Online
Due to COVID restrictions, the ACA Conference went virtual providing attendees with a monthlong Virtual Conference Experience (VCE). Attendees were able to access on-demand content 24/7, wherever they were, whenever they could. In addition, those who attended had access to the content on-demand through the end of May 2021.

2020 - CANCELLED

Breakthrough for Yourself, Your Profession & Your Clients

Though cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Conference & Expo would have offered CE credits for 36 topic-focused tracks in hot topics for counselors and clients alike – including ethics, trauma, suicide, anxiety, grief, multicultural counseling, and more.

Develop, Advance, Promote

At the 2019 Conference & Expo, attendees were provided access to the highest quality resources and training, opportunities to advocate for the counseling profession and occasions to share how they have helped others.

2018

The Future of Counseling

Looking toward a brighter future, attendees at the 2018 Conference & Expo took advantage of powerful learning opportunities, including a series for grad students and new professionals only. Counseling peers from all walks of life collaborated, grew and recharged together.

2017

March 16-19 | San Francisco, CA
ACA’s 65th annual conference was an opportunity to protect the integrity of the counseling profession and the essential roles counselors play in communities nationwide. All attendees were encouraged to make their voices heard.

2016

March 31-April 3 | Montreal, QC, Canada
In 2016, the ACA Conference & Expo was held in partnership with the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association. Highlights included new roundtable sessions, designed to provide attendees with additional spaces to share ideas in a comfortable and informal setting.
