  • Quantum Physics Applied to Counseling: a Dissertation Announcement

    Jan 30, 2012
Quantum mechanics has changed the picture of the reality. According to quantum mechanics, the reality does not already exist out there but it is created in here. Humans are a part of nature and integrated in the observed reality. We cannot stand outside of the reality and pretend to observe it without influencing what we are observing. Mindell (2000) in his book Quantum Mind provides a beautiful illustration of how concepts in quantum physics (e.g., nonlocality, entanglement, etc.) are similar to the ones in psychology (unconsciousness, consciousness, dreams, synchronicity, etc.) and how they both complement each other. He depicted an image of spanning tree with both above and below the ground. He illustrated that above the ground is the consensus or observable reality, but below is non-consensus reality that is as weird as quantum mechanics. He provided the example of a fairy tale Alice in Wonderland to illustrate how reality exists in the rabbit’s hole (below the ground). The question is how far down the rabbit’s hole we want to go?

  • Quantum Physics Or Not?

    Jan 10, 2011
“If the price of avoiding non-locality is to make an intuitive explanation impossible, one has to ask whether the cost is too great” David Bohm. How science has understood things up till now is by dissecting them to their smallest particle or sub-particle to find the base, which does not seem to exist according to the quantum physics findings. At least not the way we wanted it to be, which would be a solid particle of matter.

  • Could It be called Quantum Counseling?

    Jul 28, 2010
Client: After therapy, I feel so good. Therapist: What in therapy makes you feel good? Client: I don’t even know. I can’t describe it in words. It can’t be described in words. It’s just…….it feels good. This is what my client told me yesterday at the end of session. She had a lot to say during the session. She was disturbed and talked through out the session. She questioned and answered by herself. I was just witnessing all that was happening.

  • Are We Scientists, Humanists, or Beyond Both?

    May 20, 2010
I would like to take this time to really ask some questions of you, that I have been asking myself. I know I have been talking about theories, contents, and ideas that are a bit out of the box and sort of out there. I thank those who left comments to my posts to support my ideas. I came across this great article by David N. Aspy that compares the traditional science with “new science of possibilities.” It fed into my thoughts and compelled me to ask you all if I am the only one “out there” or my colleagues understand where I am coming from. The title of article is Beyond Both Traditional Scientist/Humanists and Humanist/Scientists. Please read this article and it will stretch your mind to another level.

  • What Are You Intending?

    May 17, 2010
“In the Universe there is an immeasurable, indescribable force which shamans call intent, and absolutely everything that exists in the entire cosmos is attached to intent by a connecting link.” Carlos Castaneda Have you ever wondered if what you think, feel, and say have any effect on the things around you or your experiences? I bet you did. I do all the time. Everybody once in a while wonders their participation in life’s events, whether things go right or wrong. I have introduced a phenomenon called “Active Observer” before, which explains the importance of human consciousness in creation. Today we’ll go little deeper to the level of intention.
