Today, I’d like to broadly begin discussing the differences between how psychedelic drugs are often used recreationally compared to how they may be used therapeutically. Specifically, we’ll discuss how the concepts of set, setting, and dose play a role both in recreational use and therapeutic use.

I would imagine that in the majority of multicultural and/or ethics graduate courses, most counselors are exposed to the lawsuit brought against Augusta University by Jennifer Keeton.

At this year’s ACA conference, I had the privilege of presenting an education session on how psychedelic (such as LSD and psilocybin) and psychedelic-like (MDMA) drugs have and are and have been being used as treatments for mental health and substance use disorders.

This year marked my third year at the ACA conference, during which I completed two presentations. I’ve presented in some capacity at the previous two conferences as well. I’m not sure what it is, but there’s something that draws me to presentations.

As mental health providers, we have been heavily implicated as ‘players’ in the national gun debate. In the aftermath of shootings, the nation often questions whether the individual had mental health issues or radical political beliefs or ideologies.
