Call for Disaster Mental Health Volunteers for Hurricane Michael

Oct 11, 2018
The American Red Cross has asked ACA and their other mental health partners to issue a call for disaster mental health volunteers who are not currently in the Red Cross system to respond to those affected by Hurricane Michael.

Teams are being deployed to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.  ACA members must hold (or have held if retired) a license to practice as a professional counselor or a license/certification as a school counselor.

The Red Cross will cover costs for transportation, housing, food and incidentals and provide an orientation and training. They will do their best to match staffing needs with each volunteer’s availability, but cannot guarantee deployment within any one person’s available timeframe or to a desired location.

Please do not contact ACA directly as the link above provides FAQ and we do not have any additional information.
