Are you ready? ACA’s new 7-part DSM-5 webinar series will answer all of your questions about diagnosing, cross-cutting, dimensional assessments, the new spectrum disorders and much more.
Session 1: April 8, 2015, 1-2pm ET
General Introduction/Gender Dysphoria: Review major structural, philosophical,
and diagnostic changes of the DSM-5; learn about a new diagnostic category.
Presenter Stephanie F. Dailey, EdD, LPC, NCC, ACS, is an assistant professor of counseling at Argosy University in Washington, DC. Her clinical experience includes 15+ years within community mental healthcare settings and work as a disaster mental health responder. She is co-chair of the ACA Ethics Committee, President-elect of the Maryland Counseling Association, and the lead author of DSM-5 Learning Companion for Counselors.

Substance Abuse/Disruptive Impulse Control/Conduct Disorder
Presenter Shannon Karl, PhD, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC, is an associate professor with the Center for Psychological Studies at Nova Southeastern University with extensive clinical mental health experience. Dr. Karl is a Past-President of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC), Past-Secretary of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and a co-author of DSM-5 Learning Companion for Counselors.

Trauma/OCD/Anxiety
Presenter Victoria E. Kress, PhD/LPCC-S, NCC, is the director of the Clinical Mental Health and Addictions Counseling programs at Youngstown State University. She has more than 20 years of experience in various clinical settings. Dr. Kress was the 2012 recipient of the ACA Counselor Educator Advocacy Award and the 2013 recipient of the ACA Distinguished Mentor Award. She has published nearly 100 refereed articles and her most recent book is Treating Those with Mental Disorders: A Comprehensive Approach to Case Conceptualization and Treatment.

Depression/Bi-polar
Presenter Carman S. Gill, PhD, LPC, ACS, NCC, is an associate professor in Florida Atlantic University’s counseling programs. Dr. Gill worked as the counseling program chair for Argosy University, DC. She also has extensive counseling experience as a crisis services manager, inpatient unit counselor, and crisis services clinician covering three hospital emergency departments. Dr. Gill has published widely on ethics, distance supervision, poor, rural women, forgiveness and substance use disorder. She is a co-author of the DSM-5 Learning Companion for Counselors.

Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders
Presenter Todd F. Lewis, PhD, LPC, NCC, is an associate professor of counseling and counselor education at North Dakota State University with a long history of clinical work. Dr. Lewis has taught assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, motivational interviewing, substance abuse counseling, and quantitative research methods. He is the 2012 recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Session 6: May 13, 2015, 1-2pm ET
Assessment/Emerging Measure/Recording-Coding
Presenter Casey A. Barrio Minton, PhD, NCC, is an associate professor and counseling program coordinator
at the University of North Texas. Her clinical experience includes outpatient, residential, intensive outpatient,
and inpatient mental health settings with a focus on crisis intervention and stabilization. She is a co-author of the DSM-5 Learning Companion for Counselors, an editor of the Journal of Counselor Leadership and Advocacy, and past president of Chi Sigma Iota International and the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling.
